Wildcats Eliminated from Field at NWCA National Duals
NU pushes 17th-ranked Mizzou to the brink before falling 23-17

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Northwestern junior Andrew Nadhir (149) and sophomore John Schoen (197) each went 2-0 on Saturday but the Wildcats were eliminated from the prestigious NWCA National Duals event after two matches at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The 'Cats fell to sixth-ranked Central Michigan 28-12 to open the day before battling No. 17 Missouri to a 23-17 loss.
#6 Central Michigan 28, Northwestern 12
NU's dual with Central Michigan started at the bottom of the lineup where freshman Levi Mele took on an experienced senior in 10th-ranked Matt Steintrager, who managed to eke out a 4-2 decision to put the Chippewas on the scoreboard first.
#17 Missouri 23, Northwestern 17
Northwestern's second dual of the afternoon got underway at 125 pounds where Missouri forfeited, giving the 'Cats an early 6-0 advantage.
